John Bol Ajak, Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer
At just 10 months old, Bol and his family fled the ongoing war in South Sudan and moved to Kenya. They settled in Kakuma, Kenya, in a refugee camp with fellow South Sudanese and Ethiopian refugees. His father stayed back to fight in the war. At 14, one of his teachers offered him a chance to move to the U.S., and Bol took this opportunity and moved to Philadelphia. Now a basketball player at Syracuse University, Bol is looking to give back to those less fortunate than him in South Sudan and Kenya, which lead him to start The HumBol fund.

Brent Huot, President
Brent was born and raised, and still lives in Sharon, Massachusetts. Since a young age, he has enjoyed helping out his local community and giving back. Brent and Bol met while recording a podcast episode for The Numbers Guys, and stayed in touch after the episode. A few weeks later, Bol reached out to him about what is now The HumBol Fund, and Brent was eager to jump onboard and help Bol get things started. Brent is excited to team up with Bol and Is looking forward to the work they will accomplish together.

Gil Chagai, Development Director
Like Bol, Gil moved to the Kukuma Refugee Camp when he was very young during the height of the Sudan Civil War. Their families were close, and moved to a small town in Kenya called Nakuru where they formally started their education. Bol and Gil were enrolled in the same public school. Bol from an early age always advised Gil to keep smiling even in the face of adversity. He is not surprised that is exactly what Bol wants to do for less privileged children in both Kenya and South Sudan through the remarkable HumBol Fund, which Gil is excited to be a part of.

Isaac Deng, Community Relations
Issac Deng (Deng) is a coach, teacher, and mentor for young South Sudanese athletes. Deng started the DeeMentor basketball academy at the beginning of 2020, with the aim of keeping South Sudanese youth out of trouble. Additionally, Deng hopes to inspire kids through the game of basketball and get them to the next level with their basketball skills so they are hopefully able to receive a scholarship either locally or overseas. It has been rather challenging for Deng, as he has been doing this work by himself, but the kids around him always kept him motivated. Deng is excited to team up with The HumBol Fund, and help keep kids on the right path
